The Military Child Care Program is designed to increase the availability of high quality care for Army families who live in or near Cumberland County. The goal of the program is to ensure these personnel are able to find child care in civilian communities that is comparable to child care provided on the Army Installation. This project is funded by the Army, administered by the National Association for Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA), and supported in part by Smart Start.

As a part of Child Care Solutions’ Military Projects, virtual tours were developed for some of the Family Child Care (FCC) homes to introduce themselves to families looking for child care. The FCC providers were asked to discuss their program, qualifications, philosophy on early childhood development, and why they chose this career. The family has the opportunity to explore the FCC environment as an initial step before going out to meet the provider. This will allow the family to become familiar with FCC as an option for care for their children.
