Committee Description
- The Personnel Committee
- advises the President on personnel policy issues and develops personnel policy guidelines for approval by the Board.
- recommends the tools and methodologies to be used in the performance evaluation of all organization staff.
- keeps the Board informed about labor-related legislative issues at the national, state, and local levels.
- focus its work on policy issues and avoid becoming involved in staff hiring, promotion, and evaluation matters that are the responsibility of the President.
Committee Meetings
The Personnel Committee usually meets the second Wednesday of every month from 8:00a.m – 9:15a.m. Prior notice is always given. Please see the attached calendar for a list of the meeting dates. Please see the calendar for a list of all the meeting dates.
Role of Chair
Maintains order during a committee meeting. Conducts the meeting according to the agenda. Be the responsible person for presenting the committee’s report at the bimonthly Board meeting.
Role of Member
- Attends a minimum of 80% of the Personnel Committee meetings.
- Be prepared for meetings by reading materials prior to the meetings.
- RSVP prior to meeting.
- Assists in special events, such as Smart Start Day, expos, town meetings, open houses, tours, or Tuesday’s for Tots.
- It is the desire that all members contribute monetarily. Members need not give equal amounts but must make an equal commitment toward helping the organization provide services.
Role of the PFC Staff
- Ensures that proper planning is done so issues are adequately covered in the meetings;
- Prepares materials and forms;
- Solicits and compiles research and promising practices; and
- Compiles minutes that adequately reflect the committee’s findings, conclusions and recommendations.
