1995-96: Improving the Quality, Affordability and Accessibility of Child Care

  • Child Care Solutions, the local CCR&R services, officially opened on July 3 and is administered by PFC.
  • Coopers and Lybrand noted that the Cumberland County Local Evaluation is the most comprehensive and had the greatest chance to produce useful information, than local evaluations being conducted by other Smart Start sites.
  • The NC Partnership adopts and implements a seven-point accountability plan to ensure the fiscal integrity and accountability for all Smart Start funds and programs.
  • Medical examinations for young children suspected of being sexually abused are less traumatic with specialized examinations and training supported by SMART START.
