1994-95: A Comprehensive Blueprint For Improving the
Early Childhood System
- Child care subsidy waiting list is eliminated.
- Community task force confirms the need for CCR&R
services resulting in hiring a Planning Coordinator for
a seven-month planning process to establish CCR&R
services.
- PFC receives $3.6 million appropriation. This is
the first full year of funding and services.
- 52.5% Child Care Subsidy, Support and Improvements
- 20% Children, Family and Provider Services
- 15% Education
- 3% Health Initiatives
- 3% Special Needs Services
- 5% Evaluation Services
- 6% Administration
- Cumberland County is one of 4 counties to participate
in piloting the NC SMART START House Call Project to
acquire information concerning the needs of young children
and families in Cumberland County.
