History
2007-08: Exploring Unlimited Possibilities
- Installed its FY 07/08 Board of Directors’ officers at its Annual Board Meeting on July 26, 2007. Board Officers are: President – Bishop Dr. Kenneth Hill, Harvest Temple Church of God; Vice President/President-Elect – Donna Mansfield, community volunteer; Secretary – Jerome Scott, Scott & Associates Financial Group; and Treasurer – William Lambert, Haigh, Byrd & Lambert LLP, CPA.
- Partnership for Children and Camp Ground United Methodist Church provide school supplies to grandparents raising their grandchildren.
- Hosted the Toddler Driving School at this year’s Cumberland County Fair.
- Omni uplifts to include installation of a Fire Alarm System, tree removal ,and moving the IRA central desk down in the main lobby.
- Officially opened its Professional Development Career Center with a ribbon cutting by the Cumberland County Business Council on Thursday, September 27, 2007.
- PFC and the Cumberland County School System partnered in Octoberto form a Ready Schools Planning Team to help our community implement a statewide Ready School Initiative.
- Planning Process underwent a major overhaul to include the Early Childhood Needs and Resource Assessment, PFC's Theory of Change, and
the Investment Decision Flowchart.
- One of two Partnerships assisting the State of Arizona in setting up an early childhood system.
- Expanding More at Four Pre-Kindergarten Program by 1,000 children becoming the largest More at Four Program in the State.
- Approved an amendment to the organization’s human resources policy that provides employees with additional paid time off when their military spouse has an overseas deployment.
- Management Team changed their name to the Leadership Team committing to serve our customers better in a more intentional way.
- Allocation Process incorporated the work of 43 community volunteers, including 12 members of the Partnership Board of Directors, committing 473 volunteer hours. Participation on these teams was up 22% when compared to the prior 2006-08 Allocation Team; and community volunteer participation on this committee increased 30% when compared to the prior committee.
- Awarded the Brookdale Foundation Grant for a local relatives as parents program.
- Received awards from the United Way: Paul T Hodul Award for the most improved employee campaign under 50 employees and the Employee Spirit Award Not-for-Profit Agency 51-200 employees.
- PFC leadership team completes department strategy maps.
- PFC launches blog on Happy Magazine Online.
- Entertained over 1,000 children and 200 child care providers at the 2nd Annual Community Relations Day. 109 volunteers contributed 279 hours.
- Over 70 organizations participated in theSummer Camp Expo on March 1st.
- Submitted a grant for theNurse Family Partnership.
- Hosted the children's area at the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival presented by Embarq for the fifth year and was recognized as a Platinum Sponsor. Over 155,000 people attended Dogwood Festival over the 3 day period. Partnership's KidStuff was filled with free child-friendly games and activities that educate and entertain. The feature attraction was the Sea Lion Splash Show and the new Toddler Zone. At the Evaluation Station PFC talked to 823 families (1,482 children). 667 of them had at least one child in our age range and were asked to fill out a survey. 574 surveys were collected for an 86% response rate!!! This is up 254% from last year. 81 volunteers contributed 269 hours.
- Contracted with Mosaic Network develop a Gant Evaluation Management System which will replace the existing quarterly report data system.
- Eva Hansen was the first recipient of the Karen Ponder Award.
- PFC Board recognized for 100% board giving 5 years in a row.
- On May 10, 17 walkers participated in the March for Babies honoring an employee's great nephew, George Wyatt who was born 2 months early. $1,740 was raised exceeing the $500.
- Donor Wall unveiling in May 29.
- PFC recognized outstanding Child Care Professionals at the 9th Annual Provider Appreciation Banquet. 350 guests, representing 55 facilities. 88 awards given out. (22 – Army Grant, 30 – Early Childhood and Education Professionals (QIG), 7 – DCD Consultants & Specialists, 17 – Professional Development, 2 – Training, 2 – Bravo Awards, 7 – More at Four and 1 – Shining Star Award)
- Acknowledged the hard work and dedication of its volunteers at its second Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held at Docks on June 27. 388 volunteers contributed over 4000 hours. There were 10
volunteers who volunteered a 100 hours or more to PFC.
- PFC branding unveiled for 7/1 implementation.
- PFC receives $______ Smart Start appropriation and ________ More at Four appropriation.
