2006-07: Operations Families First
- The Partnership for Children of Cumberland County, Inc. (PFC) has a clean bill of financial health, according to the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor. The audit of Fiscal Year 2005/2006 Smart Start activities, one of the most stringent in the state, indicates PFC is in financial compliance and has sound internal controls.
- The Partnership for Children of Cumberland County (PFC) installed its FY 2006-2007 Board of Directors' leadership at its Annual Board Meeting on July 27, 2006. Board Officers are:
- President – Steven Moore, Moore Exposure
- Vice President/President Elect – Dr. Bishop Kenneth Hill, North Ramsey Street Church of God
- Secretary – Donna Mansfield, community volunteer
- Treasurer – William Lambert, Haigh, Byrd & Lambert LLP, CPA
- PFC recommits to serving all families – military and civilians.
- PFC was awarded the Air Force Quality Family Child Care Grant. It was offered to 13 Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies in 11 states throughout the U.S.: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington.
- PFC was awarded the Army Sponsored Quality Child Care Grant . It was offered to 10 Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies throughout the U.S.
- Outreach events to families included 13 deployment fairs and 11 community fairs.
- PFC helps establish Literacy Connection of Cumberland County.
- Betty Hunnicutt, owner and director of Wonder Years Child Care Center and Partnership for Children of Cumberland County (PFC) board member, was recognized as one of Cumberland County's top volunteers at the Making a Difference Award Banquet on August 8, 2006.
- Partnership for Children of Cumberland County presents FY 2005/2006 Annual School Readiness Report.
- PFC hosted a Fall Harvest Carnival for families participating in the military grant.
- PFC's Quality Improvement and Division of Child Development partner with community organizations to streamline child care licensing process.
- PFC's More at Four Pre-K Program is hosting a float for the Christmas Parade.
- PFC's Child Care Solutions hosted a public forum in November to assess its involvement in the transition of the new North Carolina Star Rated License.
- PFC collaborated with Head Start on community assessment and surveys.
- Eight Cumberland County family child care home providers received their Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification from the Council for Professional Recognition in October. The providers are all participants in the Air Force Quality Family Child Care Project administered through the
Partnership for Children of Cumberland County (PFC).
- PFC entertains over 800 children at 2nd Annual Community Relations Day.
- PFC's Child Care Solutions hosted the Summer Camp Expo on March 17 th .
- PFC hosted KidStuff at the 2007 Fayetteville Dogwood Festival for the fourth year bring a live shark exhibit.
- First annual Community School Readiness Report published in the Fayetteville Observer.
- Partnership for Children recognizes outstanding Child Care Professionals at 8th Annual Provider Appreciation Banquet.
- The Partnership for Children of Cumberland County, Inc. (PFC), acknowledged the hard work and dedication of its volunteers at its first Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held at Carrabba's Italian Grill on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.
- PFC Strategy Map developed.
