2002-2003: Expanding Frontiers
- PFC updates their created a vision and mission statement.
- A feasibility study to measure the potential support
for expanding the Omni Family Resource Center results
in strong community support.
- PFC maximizes and leverages resources in order to
produce cost savings to agencies and/or deliver better
service to users. Examples include:
- Oversees the More at Four Pre-Kindergarten
Program for the second year as funding for that program
expands from $352,000 to $608,000 to serve 163 four
year olds at-risk of school failure.
- Provides evaluation services to two other Partnerships
for Children and one local organization.
- Provides information technology services to three
Partnerships for Children and 8 local organizations.
- Provides Multi-Partnership Accounting and Contracting
(MAC) services to three Partnerships for Children.
- Provides management services to a neighboring Partnership
for Children.
- Cumberland
County is one of a few communities to receive approval
from NCPC to operate a Child Care Subsidy System outside
of the DSS.
- Eight states (Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas,
South Carolina, Tennesse, Vermont) build on PFC’s
success via technical assistances to support the development
of early childhood initiatives like Smart Start.
- PFC receives $10,237,493 appropriation.
