CORA'S Teen Talk Community Outreach Assistance Service (CORA's) (910) 797-4918 Lynda Branch CORA'S Teen Talk is an outreach mentoring program that offers teens hope and a place for them to belong. Cumberland County Schools and Fayetteville Technical Community College Even Start Family Literacy Program (910) 484-1680 Wanda Wesley, Even Start Project Coordinator Offers GED/ESL classes for parents while their preschoolers (ages 3-5) participate in a children's program at the same location. Program combines adult literacy, early childhood education, and parenting education into a comprehensive family literacy program designed to help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. In order to be considered eligible for the Even Start Program, several criteria must be met: the parent must qualify for the GED/ESL program; the preschool child must be age 3 by August 31; and the parent must complete a needs assessment and be willing and able to participate in all components of the program.

Fayetteville Urban Ministry Find A Friend (910) 483-4661 Johnny Wilson Find-A-Friend has four components to the program: 1)Governor's One on One component allows youth ages 6-18 that are at-risk and law enforcement involved to get an adult mentor. 2)Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents(MCIP)component allows youth ages 4-18 that have a parent/guardian or a significant family member incarcerated to get an adult mentor. 3)Interpersonal Skills/Guided Growth component works with youth 3rd-12th grades in weekly group settings to discuss social growth issues such as peer pressure, anger management, self-esteem, personal enrichment, and many other issues within the community, school, or family. 4)Support Our Students(SOS)component allows youth 3rd-6th grade that are at-risk academically to get assisted with studying skills, tutoring, and reading skills while preparing them for end of grade testing(EOG).
